DARE TO BARE: MIX UP A LEGTINI

BY JOYCE BAKER

Since our “Hairtini” recipe–three hair products for fantastic curls—was so successful, I headed back to the lab and created a new recipe—for the legs!  After a certain age,  legs are far from perfect. Varicose veins are the worst—sometimes it looks like I’m bruised!  So if you aren’t wearing cute nude fishnets or tights, try the Legtini:

Recipe for Legtini
2 parts favorite body lotion
1 part body oil (I like Trader Joe’s Lavender Body Oil Spray)
1 part Sally Hansen Air Brush Leg Makeup

Combine a quarter size of body lotion,  two pumps of body oil and 3 sprays of leg makeup in your  hand. Make sure to hold the spray close to your hand, otherwise it will splatter everywhere.  Rub your hands together to mix  thoroughly and apply to legs (and arms if you wish!)  This cocktail moisturizes your skin and gives you natural color all day.  It’s streak-free and doesn’t rub off onto your clothes.  I found that when I used the Leg Makeup alone, it was messy.  I promise this works like a charm. Give it a try and let us know what you think.

I love these beauty recipes. It reminds me of when I used to work on films and photo shoots. The makeup artists rarely used any product straight. They were always mixing up products. It fascinated me to watch them. It was like witnessing alchemy.
Joyc: I tried your recommendation of grapeseed oil mixed with my body lotion. It’s great! I use right out of the shower while I’m still wet.

Yeah, I’m glad you liked the grapeseed oil. I also use vitamin E oil.
