I live in Ojai where an alarming number of women wear sandals with socks in the winter. There are no words to describe my feelings about this footwear choice. Truly, new expletives need to be created, to follow the words, “What the (fill in the blank) are on your feet?!?!?” My friend Dana, a painter with  innate great style, lives in Santa Cruz and shares my passionate response to this footwear trend, woefully and often, found in her community. Her winter look includes some kind of beautiful sweater over a fitted tank, cute jeans, and wicked-cool boots. Every winter I drool over her boots. This winter her killer boot find is a pair of Born short, western boots. She says these are ridiculously comfortable. Some Born shoes to my mind, sacrifice style for comfort, but these, I thought were really really cute. She always looks for a boot with a bit of a heel, because they are girly, but still kind of tough and sexy. Bada-bing!

Below are her boots and some other choice boot picks!

I bought myself a pair of boots this winter, first time since…the 80′s? I’m loving them!

Homage to moi? How sweet and I feel, well….honored. And BTW I’m still coveting those Eliza boots They are so cool! Guess I’ve got to sell another painting to justify the purchase.
